What are Rocky Mountain Diabetic pod covers made of?

Our pod covers are made from 1mm high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) plastic, vacuum-formed for a lightweight, durable, and precise fit.

Each cover is finished with a high-performance cast vinyl decal for vibrant color and long-lasting durability.

Every piece is hand-trimmed, detailed, and inspected before shipping.

How are your pod covers made?

Each cover is:

  1. Vacuum molded from 1mm HIPS plastic

  2. Hand-trimmed for comfort and fit

  3. Finished with premium cast vinyl graphics

  4. Individually quality checked

We produce in small batches to ensure consistent quality and attention to detail.

Are the pod covers reusable?

Yes — absolutely.

Rocky Mountain Diabetic pod covers are designed to be reusable. They can be removed and transferred to your next pod.

Many customers (including us) have worn the same cover for months without needing to replace it.

How long do the covers last?

Our covers are built to last well beyond a single pod cycle.

Because usage varies (activity level, friction, environment, etc.), we do not provide a specific lifespan estimate. However, with normal wear, they are designed to hold up for extended, repeated use.

As with any wearable product, heavy friction or harsh conditions may cause cosmetic wear over time — but this does not impact pod function.

Will the cover interfere with my pod’s communication or insulin delivery?

No.

Rocky Mountain Diabetic pod covers are decorative outer shells only. They do not interfere with pod communication, insulin delivery, or device performance.

Can I wear the cover in the shower, pool, or hot tub?

Yes.

Our covers can be worn anywhere your pod can be worn, including:

  • Shower

  • Pool

  • Hot tub

  • Sauna

  • Beach

  • Gym or workouts

The materials used are moisture-resistant and designed for active lifestyles.

Will the cover affect my pod’s adhesion?

No.

The cover sits over the pod and does not impact your adhesive patch or how the pod adheres to your skin.

Will my cover look exactly like the photos?

Because every Rocky Mountain Diabetic cover is vacuum-formed, hand-trimmed, and individually finished, slight variations are normal.

Small differences in:

  • Graphic placement

  • Alignment

  • Minor surface wrinkles

  • Edge finishing

may occur and are part of the handmade process.

These variations do not affect fit, durability, or performance.

Each cover is inspected before shipping to ensure it meets our quality standards.

Why might there be small wrinkles in the design?

Our cast vinyl graphics are applied by hand to a curved, molded surface.

Because of this, minor wrinkles or slight contour variations can occasionally occur — especially around curved edges.

This is normal for hand-applied vinyl and does not impact:

  • Wearability

  • Water resistance

  • Communication

  • Pod function

These subtle variations are part of the handcrafted character of each piece.

Are these compatible with all pods?

Our covers are currently designed specifically for:

  • Omnipod 5

  • Omnipod DASH

Are Rocky Mountain Diabetic pod covers medical devices?

No.

Our pod covers are decorative accessories only. They are not medical devices and do not modify, alter, or replace any function of your insulin delivery system.

How do I install and remove the cover?

Simply place the cover over your pod after application. No tools or adhesives are required.

To reuse, gently remove the cover and place it onto your new pod.

Do you offer custom designs?

Yes!

We love custom ideas. If you have a design in mind, contact us and we’ll work with you to create something unique.

What is your return policy?

Due to the custom and wearable nature of our products, we do not accept returns on used items.

If there is an issue with your order, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will work to make it right.

Cosmetic variations inherent to handmade production — including minor wrinkles, slight placement differences, or small edge variations — are not considered defects.
